dealing with elderly

well, since i'm apparently the one that never blogs i figured i'd break the cycle. sometimes when there are family issues involved the last thing i can think about is writing a freakin blog. earlier this year my grandmother turned 90 and as great as that was it has become apparent that she is indeed showing her age. dementia, paranoia and other things have creeped in making it tough on the family to find suitable care for her. its not that wonderful assisted living homes wouldnt take her, she just doesnt wanna be wherever she is at the time, despite what she says. when shes in georgia she hates it and wants to be in austin, when shes in austin she hates it and wants to be in georgia. for others who are dealing with these issues i feel your frustration.
of course, the problem is, with all the stress that she puts herself in with this turmoil, her 90-year-old body struggles to handle it. i fear h0w much longer she has. but haveing been given the wonderful opportunity to live with her for 5 years, i know that i learned alot from her and will always remember those years.
